On November 1, 2012, the midwifery network Familystart was launched. Swiss public television and radio as well as several newspapers reported in detail on the helpline that had been established in Basel for new parents and postnatal care. Find the published reports here:

How Familystart supports families under pressure
Midwives providing home care may encounter families in stressful situations. To help these families quickly, Familystart provides low-threshold counseling and financial support via a hardship fund. This program is called “SORGSAM – Support am Lebensstart”. It is financed in part by the Christoph Merian Stiftung and the Gesundheitsdepartement Basel-Stadt.
